Read Some of the FAQ about Our Physiotherapy Services

Do you have any questions regarding our physiotherapy services? If you need clarity, take a look at some of the FAQ that we receive at Riverside Physiotherapy Clinic.

Please call us if our FAQ does not answer your questions.

Do I need a Doctor's referral?

No. Physiotherapy is direct access healthcare, but some health insurance private benefits may need a physician's referral for compensation of the fees paid for assessment and treatment. A quick call to your personal insurance provider will tell you what is needed. This is the same for covering some of the basic physiotherapy products we may sell.

What can I expect of my first visit to Riverside Physiotherapy Clinic?

Your first assessment and treatment will take approximately 1 hour. Please show up 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to complete intake documentation and to speak with our front desk. Your physiotherapist will gather a thorough history of your problems and set up goals for your treatment. The therapist will then complete physical tests to establish baselines and provide a diagnosis. A treatment plan will be discussed and performed with the patient and in most cases, a home exercise plan will be provided. This can be printed or emailed to you.

What should I bring to each session?

Please bring originals and/or copies of doctor's referrals, insurance information (yearly amount, co-pay, etc.), imaging or test results related to your impairment, and a list of medications. Please also bring or wear appropriate clothing (tank tops, short sleeves, shorts, loose-fitting clothing) to make it easier for therapist and assistants to work with you.

Does OHIP cover my therapy?

Unfortunately, our clinic is not OHIP funded. *If you had a Total Knee or Total Hip Replacement, in most cases, your physiotherapy will be Government Funded at our clinic through the Bundled Care Program.

Does the clinic provide care for WSIB or MVA incidents?

Yes. Please bring all information regarding your claims. Please find out your claim number as soon as possible and communicate this to the front desk.

Is there parking and is it free?

Yes and Yes! There is a parking lot attached to the clinic with minimal walking distance to the front door. Handicap spaces are directly in front of the clinic entrance.

How do I book an appointment?

Please call us at 519-974-0913 or stop by the clinic at 832 Lauzon Road, Windsor, Ontario (at the corner of Wyandotte and Lauzon Road next to the Petro Gas Station).

How often do I need to come?

This will be established by your therapist on the first day based on your presentation and diagnosis.

Our Clinic is OPEN for IN-PERSON appointments!
